Bayern Munich in contact over Christopher Nkunku move; Fulham, Manchester United also keen
Bayern Munich are in contact with Christopher Nkunku’s camp, while other teams like Fulham and Manchester United are among those keen.
According to Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Christopher Nkunku is likely to leave Chelsea as the interest in the attacker continues to mount. The Frenchman’s camp are in talks with Bayern Munich, while Fulham and Manchester United are among those keen. Meanwhile, the Blues want at least £50 million to part ways with the 27-year-old.
Chelsea may have made a raft of attacking signings in this summer window, but it may be time for a few of their current stars to leave. Noni Madueke has already agreed to join Arsenal, with the deal in the final stages of completion. Christopher Nkunku could be the next in line for a departure, as a host of clubs are attentive to his situation.
Nkunku, who featured heavily in Chelsea’s triumphant Conference League campaign, has failed to nail down an important place in their Premier League side. Enzo Maresca maintains a good relationship with the attacker, but he has preferred other players in key games, and with the arrival of new faces, Nkunku’s time at the club is probably coming to an end.
Christopher Nkunku has been offered to several teams, including Manchester United. Ruben Amorim’s side have had an interest since January, and the Manchester United boss could look at him as a potential addition. While their priority is a striker, a raft of attacking exits could see them make a move for Nkunku to build up their attacking setup. Chelsea currently want £50 million or more for the Frenchman, which has already put off several suitors.
Fulham are also in the mix, and given their close proximity to Chelsea, they could potentially offer Nkunku a change of scenery while being in London. However, the Cottagers are the underdogs in this race, as there are other high-profile clubs in the mix, most notably Bayern Munich.
Bayern Munich in Christopher Nkunku talks
Bayern Munich have retained an interest in Nkunku following brief attempts to lure him back in January. They might consider the price for the £50 million-rated Chelsea forward a bit too high, but they are a club willing to negotiate a deal with the Blues. Given the serious injury to Jamal Musiala, signing a new attacker has become imperative for the Bavarians.
Christopher Nkunku is reportedly open to joining Bayern Munich and returning to the Bundesliga, where he has fond memories from his time at RB Leipzig. Bayern Munich are already in contact with the player’s camp, and a move could accelerate in the coming period, as the £50 million-rated Chelsea forward could potentially prioritise a switch to the Bavarian club.
