Arsenal and Chelsea make enquiry for Marc Casado

Arsenal and Chelsea have made enquiries for midfielder Marc Casado, with Barcelona set to demand at least €50 million for the homegrown talent.

According to Caught Offside, Marc Casado continued to attract big interest in his services, with Arsenal and Chelsea making initial enquiries. Barcelona are not actively thinking about selling the player, but should a right offer come along, the lines of €50 million.

Marc Casado could be the victim of Barcelona’s financial issues this summer, as a viable offer could tempt the club to consider a sale. The Catalans are not actively seeking to sell the home-grown star, although the report states they could potentially consider an offer worth €50 million or more.

The midfielder was a key part of Hansi Flick’s side last season, but fell off the radar once Frenkie De Jong returned to action and took over Casado’s midfield spot. As things stand, the manager views the midfielder as a key part of his squad and will be happy to keep him.

However, Barcelona’s ongoing issues with finances could render a player or two dispensable, which could include Casado. The €50 million-rated Barcelona prospect does have big interest from Premier League sides, with Liverpool one of those interested.

Chelsea are also keen, although they have a packed midfield at the moment. However, given that they are a club always seeking market opportunities for young talent, a move is all the more possible. Chelsea, alongside Arsenal, have enquired about the €50 million-rated Barcelona prospect, although this has not resulted in talks of any kind for the Spaniard.

Arsenal could view Marc Casado as a market opportunity

Arsenal hold an interest in Casado, although they have already reinforced their midfield options with the likes of Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard. The club are focusing on attacking signings this summer, but if a clear opportunity on Casado comes across, they might consider a move for the Barcelona star.

However, for the time being, a new midfielder of the defensive variety is not on Arsenal’s agenda. With plenty of time left in the summer window, a lot of things could transpire, including a potential move for Casado from Arsenal or even Chelsea.
