Bayer Leverkusen eyeing loan move for Estevao Willian
Bayer Leverkusen are interested in signing Estevao Willian on loan once he completes his move to Chelsea, after the Club World Cup.
According to a report from Fichajes, Bayer Leverkusen are keen on acquiring the services of Estevao Willian on loan. The Palmeiras graduate is all set to join Chelsea after the end of the ongoing Club World Cup.
While the teenage sensation is set to move to Europe in just over a week, he might not stay at Stamford Bridge for long. The Blues cannot guarantee him enough first-team minutes from the start. As a result, they are considering sending him out on loan.
Estevao Willian went up the ranks at Palmeiras at some pace. He got promoted to their first team at the start of 2024 and has not looked back since. The teenager has already featured in 83 matches for their senior side while contributing towards 42 goals.
Estevao’s sensational rise and impressive performances had put him on the radar of multiple top clubs. But Chelsea acted swiftly and agreed a deal with the Brazilian club for the 18-year-old last summer. He is set to join the London club on July 14.
While the Brazilian international is an important part of their long-term plans, the Blues are not certain if they can hand him regular game time from the start. Chelsea do not want to hamper his growth as a player; as a result, their sporting director has been on the lookout for an ideal loan destination for the young winger.
Bayer Leverkusen are interested in Estevao
Chelsea want Estevao Willian to be a part of a top club to help him get adjusted to the level of football in Europe. Bayer Leverkusen are one of the first teams to show interest in the youngster, who prefers playing on the right flank but is capable enough to feature anywhere in the final third.
Erik ten Hag is keen on adding more firepower to his attack. He is looking for someone who can disrupt the opposition defence with his dribbling and add goals to the mix. So, recent reports have linked Bayer Leverkusen with Alejandro Garnacho and Antony. However, Estevao can also certainly help their cause, and the Dutch manager believes he is an ideal fit for his system.
The Brazilian wonderkid could prove to be an integral part of the Bundesliga giants, who failed to defend the league title last time out. Bayer Leverkusen will once again look to push for the silverware under a new boss, and the incoming Chelsea whizkid could prove to be a valuable addition to their squad.
