Arsenal confident of keeping Ethan Nwaneri at the club

Arsenal are confident of extending Ethan Nwaneri’s deal at the club amid fears of losing him as a host of their rivals are interested in the teenager.

According to Caught Offside, Arsenal are confident of retaining Ethan Nwaneri in the team despite concerns over a contract extension. Rivals like Chelsea and Liverpool are keeping close tabs on the teenager’s situation, as the Gunners are certain the 2024/25 breakout star will stay put for years to come.

Ethan Nwaneri has caused plenty of concerns within the Arsenal fan base over the last 24 hours. The Gunners have been angling for a new deal for the teenager for many months now and recently managed to renew Myles Lewis-Skelly’s deal while hoping Nwaneri will follow suit.

Arsenal’s transfer plans this summer may have had a profound effect on Nwaneri’s thinking as he’s reportedly unsure about extending his contract. The issue here is that some outlets have stated the player’s representatives have asked for guarantees over playing time, despite Mikel Arteta using the 2024/25 breakout star for more than 1300 minutes last season.

However, the story of Nwaneri being uncertain has coincided with Arsenal’s pursuit of Chelsea star Noni Madueke. Incidentally, Nwaneri has predominantly played on the right wing last season for most parts; however, Arteta internally thinks the teenager is well suited in an attacking midfield role.

To add to the concerns, teams like Chelsea and Liverpool are already circling for the attacker. The Blues ready to pounce if Arsenal fail to agree a new deal with Nwaneri. The Gunners are aware of the situation, but remain confident of getting the new contract over the line.

Will Ethan Nwaneri sign a new deal at Arsenal?

Arsenal are confident that they can offer Nwaneri the proper pathway to becoming much more of a regular in the coming period. They certainly do not want to lose the teenager, especially after he showed his character to be the right player for the club.

Furthermore, Nwaneri’s preference is to continue with the club, and the talks over the new deal are understood to be very much advanced. Hence, the Gunners are the favourites to retain the player, barring a late twist in the tale, although the situation can still be deemed as delicate.
