Everton in transfer tussle to sign Mihailo Ivanovic
Everton are set to battle for the signing of Millwall striker Mihailo Ivanovic following the exit of Dominic Calvert-Lewin on a free transfer.
According to Football Insider, Mihailo Ivanovic is attracting considerable interest from Premier League clubs, with Everton one of those keen, alongside Wolves. The top-flight sides are yet to understand the details of a transfer, as Millwall are expected to demand a significant fee to sell the 13-goal striker who only arrived last summer.
Everton and Wolves are in the hunt for Millwall striker Mihailo Ivanovic. The Serbian had a productive first season in English football with 13 goals to his name across all competitions, with 12 of those coming in the Championship.
Millwall are already aware of the growing interest in the forward, especially from Everton, as the Championship side are likely to demand a significant fee to sell him. The 13-goal striker may ponder the switch to the top flight even though he may not be regarded as the automatic first-choice centre-forward next season.
Wolves have lost primary goalscorer Matheus Cunha to Manchester United, while Everton have seen Dominic Calvert-Lewin leave on a free transfer. The latter has growing interest from Premier League teams, as he is expected to join one of the suitors.
His departure does leave a void for David Moyes to fill, although they have already agreed a deal for Thierno Barry from Villarreal. The Everton boss will also look at the departure of loanee Armando Broja as a factor to consider replacing the Albanian, which has attracted the idea of signing Ivanovic in the summer.
Everton to address striker situation
The departure of Calvert-Lewin has seen them sign Barry, while there are doubts about Beto’s future. The striker has the interest from Leeds United, and should Barry take up the starting role, Beto might angle a departure, as he was keen on leaving back in January.
Everton are also linked with Georges Mikautadze from relegated Lyon, although signing the Georgian striker will prove difficult given other teams are vying for his signature. Everton are eager to sign another striker apart from the statement signing of Barry to help Moyes have different options in his attacking setup ahead of the new season.
