Chelsea poised to seal Jamie Gittens deal by Monday as Bayern Munich snubbed

Jamie Gittens has no desire to change his plans following Bayern Munich’s late attempt to steal him away from Chelsea’s hands.

According to Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Jamie Gittens has set his focus on a move to Chelsea, having snubbed a late attempt from Bayern Munich. The Borussia Dortmund winger has no desire to change his current plans, which involve a switch to Stamford Bridge, as terms are already been agreed over a move.

Jamie Gittens probably had the best season of his career last time out, as the Borussia Dortmund attacker finished the campaign with 17 goal contributions across all competitions. Many clubs had kept tabs on the winger’s situation, as early reports stated he was ready to make a big switch in the summer.

Chelsea had taken pole position in the race despite interest from rivals like Arsenal and Bayern Munich. The latter have been chasing a new wide attacker since Leroy Sane made up his mind to leave them and join Galatasaray, which has seen the Bavarians target the likes of Nico Williams and even loosely linked with Gabriel Martinelli, as per reports.

Chelsea have already agreed a deal with Borussia Dortmund for Jamie Gittens, and it is only a matter of time before the player is announced. The Blues have also signed Joao Pedro, while they might look for another attacker once Gittens is announced.

Borussia Dortmund have confirmed an agreement for Gittens, but the move is yet to be formalised. Bayern Munich reportedly made a late attempt to find out if a deal for the English whizkid is still on the cards, and the Bundesliga champions were told that Gittens will focus on joining Chelsea.

Jamie Gittens snubbed Bayern Munich

Gittens only wanted to join Chelsea, even when other teams like Bayern Munich were linked earlier. The Bavarians could have had a favourable march on the youngster had they made the move before the Blues came into the picture, as a late approach may have worked against them.

They viewed Jamie Gittens as an alternative to Williams, although the Borussia Dortmund winger has reportedly told them he has no interest in changing the current plans, which involve joining Chelsea. The Premier League side are expected to formalist the move with Dortmund and announce Gittens as their next attacking signing of this summer after Liam Delap and Pedro.
