Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Gonzalo Garcia from Real Madrid during the summer transfer window.

According to a report from Spanish outlet Fichajes, Chelsea are plotting a €40 million move for 21-year-old Real Madrid breakout star Gonzalo Garcia. The young striker has impressed with his performances for Los Blancos at the FIFA Club World Cup, and he his form during the competition has alerted the West London club.

He has the qualities to develop into a reliable goalscorer, and Chelsea could certainly use another striker. Although they have invested in Joao Pedro and Liam Delap, they are looking to bring in another goalscorer before the window closes.

Delap did quite well for Ipswich Town last season, but he is largely unproven at a big club. Similarly, Pedro was impressive for Brighton, but he was not a prolific goalscorer. Garcia could share the goal-scoring burden at Chelsea next season.
