Arsenal will reportedly look to sign 27-year-old Nigerian international Ademola Lookman from Serie A outfit Atalanta in a deal worth €50 million in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Corriere della Sera, as relayed by Sport Witness, Ademola Lookman is the subject of interest from Arsenal. The Gunners are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing a versatile attacker in the summer transfer window. So, the 27-year-old Atalanta forward has emerged as a target for the North London outfit.

The Serie A outfit will demand around €60 million to part ways with the London-born attacker in the summer transfer window. However, Arsenal will aim to secure Lookman’s services in a deal worth €50 million while also including add-ons in the package.

Ademola Lookman has landed on his feet since joining Atalanta from RB Leipzig in August 2022. The 27-year-old could not make it count at Everton and RB Leipzig, while loan spells with Fulham and Leicester City were duds. However, he has come leaps and bounds in the last three years, making his mark at different junctures for La Dea.

The Nigerian international was exceptional in the 2024/25 season, contributing to 27 goals in 40 outings in all competitions by finding the back of the net 20 times and providing seven assists. Meanwhile, Lookman’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs, with Arsenal among his prospective suitors in the summer transfer window.

Arsenal’s interest in Ademola Lookman is understandable. The Gunners are scouring the market for a productive attacker this summer amid the growing over-dependence on Bukayo Saka. With Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard not being prolific enough in the last two seasons, Arsenal can do with a player like Lookman.

However, the North London outfit must bridge a valuation gap, with Atalanta demanding around €60 million to part ways with the former Everton winger. Meanwhile, Arsenal will look to secure Lookman’s services in a deal worth an initial €50 million “with some bonuses”.
