Tottenham front-runners to sign Mohammed Kudus
Tottenham Hotspur are leading the race to sign signature 24-year-old West Ham United attacking mainstay Mohammed Kudus.
According to a report from Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Tottenham are emerging as front-runners to sign West Ham United attacker Mohammed Kudus. While Arsenal also remain interested in the Ghanaian international, Spurs have already held advanced talks regarding a potential move.
Kudus made a name for himself at Ajax, and on the back of it, he made the move to the Hammers in the summer of 2023. The 24-year-old attacker had a sensational debut campaign, but he failed to back it up last time out under Julen Lopetegui.
West Ham ready to sell Mohammed Kudus
While the Ghanaian international is considered a key figure in the team and he still has three years left on his deal, West Ham are ready to cash in on him. The Hammers are struggling to balance their books, and to bolster Graham Potter’s squad, they will first have to sanction some departures and raise funds.
Kudus’s departure could help their cause. While he is protected by a massive £80 million release clause, interested clubs could sign him for a much lower fee as the Hammer value him in excess of £60 million.
Tottenham and Arsenal are two English clubs who are interested in his signature. But North London clubs have already enquired about Mohammed Kudus as they consider making a move in the coming weeks. While the Gunners already have Bukayo Saka on the right, Kudus could still prove to be a great acquisition for them as he can feature anywhere in the final third.
Thomas Frank wants a new right-winger
Mikel Arteta does admire the 24-year-old, but Arsenal are behind Tottenham in the race for his signature. Spurs are looking to add more firepower to their attack as they look to ensure Thomas Frank has everything needed to succeed.
While the new Tottenham manager was keen on reuniting with Bryan Mbeumo, Daniel Levy’s team have failed to secure his services. As a result, Spurs have completely shifted their focus towards Kudus, who is admired by Levy and Fabio Paratici.
Tottenham feel Frank could bring the best out of the Ghanaian international. Spurs have now held the most advanced talks to sign the West Ham star. With the Hammers looking to cash in on him, Tottenham are hoping to get a deal over the line in the coming weeks.
