Manchester United plotting move for Fabian Ruiz
Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United are plotting a raid on Paris Saint-Germain for their midfield mainstay Fabian Ruiz.
According to a report from Foot Mercato, Manchester United are one of the clubs that are interested in acquiring the services of Fabian Ruiz. The Red Devils seek more quality in their midfield and feel the Spanish international could significantly bolster it.
Ruiz made a name for himself while playing for Napoli before making the move to Paris in the summer of 2022. The initial years at the French club were not that great for the 29-year-old, but he has certainly been at his best since the arrival of Luis Enrique.
The Spanish manager has helped him take his game to the next level. He played a massive part in PSG’s dominant 2024/25 campaign, where they won the treble. He was involved in a total of 58 matches. He started in 43 of those fixtures and contributed towards 15 goals.
With a goal and an assist in the ongoing Club World Cup, the 29-year-old has taken his tally to 17 G/A. He has formed a dependable partnership with Joao Neves and Vitinha in the centre of the park. His consistent performances have put him on the radar of multiple top clubs.
United want to sign Ruiz this summer
Manchester United are one of the giants who are keen on securing his services. Ruben Amorim is looking to revamp his squad as he prepares for his first full season in charge of the club. While the focus is on adding more firepower in the final third, he is also looking for players who can help him control the tempo of the game.
Ruiz can certainly bring a lot to the table. While his contract at PSG runs out in two years, they will still find it difficult to secure his services. Enrique considers him a key part of his plans, and the French club do not have any intentions of selling him at this point.
The Red Devils will have to do a lot of convincing, and since they do not have Champions League football to offer, this looks like a very difficult deal to pull off. While PSG haven’t held any renewal talks with him, given his recent performances, a new deal with improved terms is certainly around the corner.
