Christopher Nkunku poised to become one of the first Chelsea exits this month

Chelsea are reportedly set to part ways with 27-year-old French international Christopher Nkuuku during the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Football Insider, Christopher Nkunku will become one of the first Chelsea exits this month. The Frenchman had 20 goal contributions last season, but he has struggled to hold down a regular starting spot at the West London club. He needs to leave in search of regular football, and a move away from Chelsea would be ideal for him.

The Frenchman has previously shown his quality in Germany, and there is no doubt that he is a quality player. He could prove to be a quality addition to the right team. Nkunku is capable of operating centrally as well as on the flanks. He will help create opportunities for his teammates and add goals to the side as well.

The player is 27 and he is at the peak of his career. Sitting on the bench at Chelsea is unlikely to benefit him. He needs to move on and join another club. It will be interesting to see where he ends up. The player should look to join a club where he will play regularly, and he will hope to compete at a high level. It remains to be seen whether any big club is willing to come forward and provide him with an exit route.

Chelsea need attacking reinforcements

Meanwhile, Chelsea will look to get rid of the player and use the funds from his departure to improve their attacking unit. The Blues have already signed Liam Delap from Ipswich Town, and they are closing in on Jamie Gittens as well.

However, the West London outfit need more attacking additions this summer. It remains to be seen whether Chelseacan bring in a dynamic attacker like Nkunku, who is capable of slotting into multiple attacking roles.

The French international was regarded as one of the best attackers in European football when he joined Chelsea, but he has not been able to live up to the expectations. Nkunku has struggled with injury problems as well, but he will be desperate to get his career back on track. A fresh start would be ideal for him at this stage of his career.
