Bundesliga record champions Bayern Munich have finalized Maurice Krattenmacher’s loan out to Hertha BSC. The 19-year-old attacking talent will spend a year in Charlottenburg. Kicker and other German sources report that Hertha does not have an option to purchase Krattenmacher. The Bavarians still have plans for the former SpVgg Unterhaching man.

After a promising second division season with relegated Ulm (three goals, eight assists in 32 games), Krattenmacher now wishes to take the next step in his sporting development with promotion hopefuls Hertha. Several German first and second division sides were interested in taking him on loan next season.

I’ve really thought long and hard over the last few weeks and ultimately decided on Hertha BSC with complete conviction,” Krattenmacher noted in his club statement. “The talks with [personnel executive] Benny Weber were very good from the start, and head coach [Stefan Leitl] showed me exactly why and how I can help the team here with my playing style. I now want to prove that on the pitch and take another big step in my development.

Maurice is a promising talent, and talents need playing time to gain valuable experience,” FCB sporting director Christoph Freund added. “He quickly established himself at Ulm last season and will now continue his development at Hertha BSC. We will support him and continue to monitor him closely. Maurice is a player with great potential and the right attitude to find his way.
