Viktor Gyokeres wants crunch talks with Frederico Varandas in bid to force Arsenal move

Viktor Gyokeres has sought crunch talks with Sporting CP president Frederico Varandas to continue his push to join Arsenal.

According to Correio de Manha via Sport Witness, Viktor Gyokeres wants a face-to-face meeting with Sporting CP president Frederico Varandas. The agenda of the said meeting is to apply renewed pressure on the Portuguese club to facilitate a move to Arsenal as Varandas’s recent comments may have complicated the deal even further.

The Viktor Gyokeres saga is heading towards a full-blown saga as his rift with Sporting CP continues. The president of the Portuguese club made further comments on the situation which may not defuse the tension between the Swedish striker and the club.

As things stand, Arsenal are the most interested side, and Gyokeres has already expressed his desire to join them to Sporting CP president Frederico Varandas. The issue between the striker and the club supremo stems from a claim on the player’s side that promises made via a ‘gentleman’s agreement’ have not been fulfilled.

Many reports have stated that Viktor Gyokeres was told by Varandas that he would be allowed to leave for an offer of €60 million plus €10 million, but the demands have been much higher. Varandas’s latest comments reiterate his previous statements that the Swede will not be sold for the said price, as Fabrizio Romano’s post on X ran his comments.

Varandas said, “I’m not going to say what the price is, the player knows what it is”. “I can tell you that Viktor won’t leave for €60m plus €10m he won’t, he just won’t.”

Gyokeres is already concerned about a delay in his move to Arsenal, although there are other suitors like Manchester United waiting in the wings. Many other stories have repeatedly mentioned his desire to join the Gunners over other clubs including the Red Devils.

Gyokeres seeks Frederico Varandas talks

The report states that Sporting CP have given Gyokeres more time to join training, thus extending his leave until July 7. In any case, once he makes his return, the 27-year-old Manchester United striker target wants face-to-face talks with Varandas to further push for an exit from the club and join Arsenal, who are reportedly willing to make a new offer.

The Gunners want Viktor Gyokeres before the pre-season tour of Asia, and there is pressure not only on them but the striker himself. Benjamin Sesko is also being pursued by the Gunners, and in the scenario that they sign the Slovenian a move for the 27-year-old Swede could be all but over, which appears to be his dream move at the moment.
