Chelsea, Manchester United rival Aston Villa, Newcastle United in Marcin Bulka chase
Marcin Bulka is on the list of many top clubs as the OGC Nice stopper nears an exit from the French side, with the Premier League a possible destination.
According to Caught Offside, Chelsea and Manchester United have shown an interest in Marcin Bulka as they could rival the likes of Aston Villa and Newcastle United for the goalkeeper. There are a lot of possibilities for the Polish stopper who seems destined to leave OGC Nice in this window.
Many top clubs need a new goalkeeper, with as many as four top teams in the Premier League searching for one. Manchester United are at the forefront of this hunt, with Ruben Amorim now ready to green-light a departure for Andre Onana, as Marcin Bulka is seen as a new option, while Botafogo’s John Victor is also linked.
Bulka seems destined to leave OGC Nice in this window in search of a bigger challenge, with the Premier League appearing to be a possible destination. There are a lot of other teams showing interest from elsewhere, including Sunderland, who had opened official talks.
Aston Villa are also keen as they continue their search for an Emiliano Martinez replacement, with the Argentine incidentally linked with Manchester United and Chelsea. They view Bulka as an option to replace the World Cup winner which would make a lot of sense from a sporting and financial standpoint.
Chelsea backed away from a deal for Mike Maignan, while Fabrizio Romano recently refuted links to Martinez. They are searching for a new stopper to replace Robert Sanchez, as Bulka could be seen as one of the potential options for them ahead of the new season.
Marcin Bulka’s future decided?
Newcastle United have failed with a bid for James Trafford, as Burnley’s asking price could prove to be a sticking point. Hence, there’s no surprise to see them pivot towards other options such as Bulka, with Nice demanding €20-25 million for the Ligue 1 goalkeeper.
While those many teams are interested in the €20-25m-rated Ligue 1 goalkeeper, the latest update on his transfer seems to suggest that Bulka is set to join Saudi Arabian side Neom FC as per Ben Jacobs. Will this be seen as a bitter blow for Premier League sides in the chase? Probably so, although the Polish star was ideally seen as an alternative of sorts rather than a primary target by most of those interested parties.
