Manu Fajardo, Angel Haro comment on Antony transfer talks

Manchester United attacker Antony was on loan at Real Betis during the second half of the 2024/25 season, and he was outstanding for them.

Real Betis are keen on signing Antony permanently in the summer transfer window, and they are confident of selling the move in the coming weeks. The player has no future at Manchester United, and it makes sense for them to sell him.

The Brazilian will look to get his career back on track with a permanent exit as well. He has been quite impressive in La Liga, and it seems that he is enjoying his football once again. He will look to establish himself as an indispensable asset for Real Betis next season. He helped them do well in the league and reach the final of the Conference League last year. There is no doubt that he would be an excellent acquisition for the Spanish club permanently.

Manu Fajardo and Angel Haro have also commented on a potential transfer for the Manchester United attacker.

Fajaro said via : “We all have to be aware that it’s a very complex operation. Given the player’s level, and his most recent career at Real Betis, it’s not an easy operation . But hey, as long as Antony hasn’t committed to a third party, we, with the utmost humility, are going to play our cards to be able to opt for Antony. I insist, despite being a complex operation, we will try to carry it out in different ways without mortgaging the club . In the end, the most important thing is also the sustainability of the entity. We will try to be creative, as we have been in the past, so that Antony can be here. Today the market is open, as I said before, it’s very dynamic and we are part of that game.”

Haro said: “We have to maintain the same financial rigor we’ve had up until now. Sporting sustainability is very important to us, of course, but also economic sustainability. We won’t go crazy; we’ll have a similar squad expenditure, perhaps a little higher than last year, and we’ll be able to make some high-profile signings. But yes, something that has characterized Betis in recent years is that we sell well, and we also buy well, and at affordable prices.”

Deal should be done eventually

It will be interesting to see if the two clubs can work out a deal quickly. Manchester United are desperate to sell him, and the player is keen on an exit as well. It is fair to assume that it should not take long for the deal to sort itself out.

Manchester United will look to get rid of the player and cut their losses on him. It will be interesting to see if they can bring in quality replacements this summer. They need more quality and depth on the flanks.

Antony and Jadon Sancho are both likely to leave the club this summer. Manchester United spent more than £150 million on the two players, but the moves did not work out. They will need to move on and bring in alternatives now.
