Tottenham prepared to submit proposal to sign Georges Mikautadze

Tottenham are keen on making an offer to test Lyon’s resolve on Georges Mikautadze following the Ligue 1 giants’ relegation.

According to Tutto Juve, Tottenham are making inroads in the pursuit of Georges Mikautadze following Lyon’s relegation to Ligue 2. The mammoth demotion could lead to an exodus as Spurs are willing to make an offer to test their resolve on the Georgia International attacker.

Lyon were handed a provisional relegation back in January, and now the verdict has been confirmed following their inability to sort out the financial issues at the club. For a club of the size of Lyon, they will always have the biggest chance to bounce back from adversity and reclaim their place in France’s first tier at the earliest possible opportunity.

However, in the time between now a the end of the transfer window, the beleaguered French outfit are at a massive risk of a squad exodus, as several of their first-team stars will want to part ways. Rayan Cherki has already joined Manchester City while other talents like Malick Fofana, Thiago Almada and Georges Mikautadze are all in danger of departing.

West Ham were keen on the latter earlier and could revive their chase for the striker if the conditions are right. Lyon are in a weak spot at the moment, which could see clubs outmuscle them for the top-rated stars. Georges Mikautadze also has the interest of Tottenham, who are in the market for a new striker.

The North Londoners are set to return to the Champions League and will need quality additions to build their squad. Mikautadze, who had contributed to 28 goals across all competitions this term for Lyon, might be seen as a perfect fit. Other targets included Randal Kolo Muani, who wants to stay put at Juventus, while they do have more names on their list.

Tottenham to make Georges Mikautadze offer

Tottenham are seen as the front-runners to sign Mikautadze, with the club set to test the waters with a concrete offer for Mikautadze, as his will to make the move is likely to be key in this saga. Lyon’s price point is unclear at this point, but Spurs are unlikely to match the main value and probably get to it in due time. The French-born Georgia international will be seen as a market opportunity, but Tottenham are targeting other names too in the process.

Brentford’s Yoane Wissa is also a target, but Brentford will play hardball following Thomas Frank’s move to Tottenham as Ange Postecoglou’s replacement. Tottenham are also in the mix for Rodrigo Muniz as per a few reports, which shows their willingness to land a new striker as a competitor for last summer’s big arrival Dominic Solanke.
