Real Madrid keen on Nick Woltemade, VfB Stuttgart unwilling to sell

Real Madrid will reportedly look to sign 23-year-old German international Nick Woltemade from Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Nick Woltemade is the subject of interest from Real Madrid. The Merengues are combing the market for a striker in the summer transfer window as he wants a new top-class backup centre-forward. So, the 23-year-old VfB Stuttgart attacker has emerged as a target for Los Blancos.

The decision-makers at Real Madrid view Woltemade as a “strong option for the future”. However, signing the VfB Stuttgart striker will be a tall order, as the Bundesliga outfit will not entertain any bids to part ways with the Bremen native in the summer transfer window.

Nick Woltemade is the latest striker to stake claim to become the first-choice for Germany. The 23-year-old has enjoyed a rapid rise in prominence after an exceptional 2024/25 campaign, as he contributed to 20 goals in 33 appearances across all competitions by finding the back of the net 17 times and providing three assists.

Woltemade was impressive in the DFB Pokal, in particular, as he amassed five goals and one assist in five outings. The player’s exploits helped him break into his national side, and the new German international has piqued the attention of several well-known clubs with his exploits. Real Madrid will be among the prospective suitors vying for his signature in the summer transfer window.

Real Madrid’s interest in Nick Woltemade is understandable. The Spanish giants want to reinforce their offensive unit by signing a striker in the summer transfer window, with Xabi Alonso keen on adding a recognised centre-forward to his squad. So, several candidates, including Niclas Fullkrug, have emerged on Real Madrid’s radar.

However, Woltemade is also a viable target, with his qualities making him an ideal foil for Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappe. While the VfB Stuttgart striker is an option worth considering for Real Madrid, Los Blancos will unlikely secure his services in the summer transfer window.
