Le Havre sold to American firm Blue Crow

Le Havre AC has been sold to American firm Blue Crow, the club’s current owner, Vincent Volpe, has confirmed.

There had been great confidence of a deal being reached to sign the Normand club. Blue Crow accompanied Volpe during the club’s recent meeting with the DNCG. That meeting took place on Tuesday, and the deal is now completed, with Volpe telling Paris-Normandie that the deal had been signed and that they are now awaiting ratification from the DNCG.

Blue Crow already own several clubs, including Leganés in Spain and Cancun in Mexico. Following the mid-season meeting with the DNCG, Le Havre’s wage budget was the subject of close scrutiny, and controls were implemented by the DNCG, which severely limited the club’s ability to recruit.

However, Les Ciel et Marines succeeded in maintaining their Ligue 1 status. Now under new ownership, it is hoped that the restrictions can be lifted, ahead of another season in the top-flight.
