Inter Milan in touch with Manchester United for Rasmus Hojlund move
Serie A giants Inter Milan are reportedly interested in signing 22-year-old Danish international Rasmus Hojlund from Manchester United in the summer transfer window.
According to a report by Gazzetta dello Sport, as relayed by Sport Witness, Rasmus Hojlund is the subject of interest from Inter Milan. The Serie A giants are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing another striker in the summer transfer window, even though they are closing in on signing Ange-Yoan Bonny. So, the struggling Manchester United forward has emerged as a target for the Nerazzurri.
The 2024/25 UEFA Champions League finalists have been in touch with Manchester United over a possible move for Hojlund. Meanwhile, the Red Devils will demand around €45 million to part ways with the young Dane in the summer transfer window. However, Inter Milan would prefer a loan move with an option or obligation to seal a permanent deal next year.
Rasmus Hojlund and his Manchester misery
Rasmus Hojlund has endured a topsy-turvy ride since joining Manchester United from Atalanta in a big-money move in August 2023. While the 22-year-old striker showed flashes of brilliance in his debut season and enjoyed a solid 2023/24 term, his performance level plummeted in the 2024/25 campaign.
The Danish international managed only ten goals and four assists in 52 appearances across all competitions. Nevertheless, Hojlund’s stock in the market remains high, with several well-known clubs keen on signing him in the summer transfer window. A move to Serie A may be on the cards, with Inter Milan vying for his signature.
Serie A return on the horizon?
Inter Milan’s interest in Rasmus Hojlund is understandable. The Serie A giants are scouring the market for a striker coming into the summer transfer window. While Ange-Yoan Bonny is closing in on joining the Nerazzurri, they remain keen on signing the struggling Manchester United centre-forward.
Joaquin Correa has already left Inter Milan, and Marko Arnautovic will join him on the exit trail soon. In addition, Mehdi Taremi faces an uncertain future at San Siro. So, Inter Milan must sign multiple strikers in the summer transfer window, with Hojlund emerging as a viable target. They have been in constant contact with Manchester United over a possible deal for the 22-year-old Dane.
However, Manchester United’s asking price of €45 million poses a problem for the Nerazzurri. The Serie A giants would prefer a loan move this summer with an option or obligation to seal a permanent deal for the Danish international next year. So, the negotiations between Inter Milan and Manchester United will not be straightforward.
