Manchester United reach agreement to sign Bryan Mbeumo

Manchester United will reportedly complete a deal worth £60 million to sign 25-year-old Cameroonian international Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford this summer.

According to a report by Centre Devils, Bryan Mbeumo is the subject of interest from Manchester United. The Red Devils have been keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing another versatile attacker in the summer transfer window after landing Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers. So, the 25-year-old Brentford star has been on their wishlist.

Manchester United failed with an opening bid worth £55 million to sign the French-born attacker from Brentford. However, the Bees have accepted their fellow Premier League club’s improved offer worth £60 million, with “add-ons making the deal comparable to that of Cunha”. Meanwhile, Manchester United and Mbeumo already have an agreement on personal terms.

The rise and rise of Bryan Mbeumo

Bryan Mbeumo has seen his stock skyrocket since joining Brentford from ESTAC Troyes in August 2019. The 25-year-old helped the West London club secure promotion to the Premier League a few years ago, and he has come leaps and bounds in the top flight.

The Cameroonian international has enjoyed a solid 2024/25 campaign, contributing to 29 goals in 42 appearances across all competitions by finding the back of the net 20 times and providing nine assists. Meanwhile, Mbeumo’s exploits have not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs, including Manchester United.

Move across the Premier League on the cards?

Manchester United’s interest in Bryan Mbeumo is understandable. The Red Devils are combing the market for another versatile attacker in the summer transfer window despite signing Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers. Manchester United’s offensive output left a lot to be desired in the 2024/25 season, and they need to add goals heading into the 2025/26 campaign.

So, Mbeumo has emerged as a viable target for Manchester United, with the player keen on joining the Red Devils in the summer transfer window. However, the Premier League giants failed with their opening bid to sign the French-born attacker, and they have returned with a proposal worth £60 million.

The bid worth £60 million has done the trick, with Brentford accepting Manchester United’s offer. So, while Tottenham mulled over beating the Red Devils to his signature, the 25-year-old Cameroonian international will move to Old Trafford in the summer transfer window.
