Racing Club open talks to sign Alejo Veliz
Tottenham Hotspur striker Alejo Veliz has been linked with a summer move away from the club, and Racing Club are keen on him.
As per a report by TYC Sports, Racing Club have opened talks to sign Alejo Veliz. The 21-year-old attacking prospect was on loan at Espanyol last season. The player needs to leave permanently this summer, and it remains to be seen whether Racing Club can get a deal done for him.
Veliz needs to move on
Alejo Veliz is unlikely to get opportunities at Tottenham next season, and it makes sense for him to move on. The young attacker has been linked with Rosario Central as well. The youngster joined Tottenham from Rosario Central, and he has not been able to hold down a regular starting spot for the North London outfit. Returning to South America could be ideal for him.
The 21-year-old needs to play regularly at this stage of his career. Tottenham will not be able to provide him with that opportunity, and he should look to join a club where he will be a regular starter.
The Argentine striker is a tremendous talent for the bright future, and he will have plenty of opportunities to join a big club if he manages to fulfil his potential. Sitting on the bench at Tottenham next season would not be ideal for him.
Meanwhile, Racing Club are looking to add more quality and depth to the attacking unit, and it remains to be seen whether they can convince Tottenham to let the player leave for a reasonable amount of money. The 21-year-old would be a future asset for them, and it will be interesting to see how the situation develops.
The young attacker should focus on his development for now. He needs to play regularly to improve as a player. Meanwhile, Tottenham need to improve their attacking unit, and it remains to be seen whether they can sell some of their fringe players and bring in quality replacements. Dominic Solanke was quite mediocre last season, and they need more support in the final third.
