The busy start to the summer being enjoyed by La Liga outfit Espanyol has on Wednesday continued.

This comes amid confirmation of yet another completed signing on the part of the Catalans.

The latest player to have put pen to paper on terms with Espanyol? José Salinas.

Salinas, for his part, spent last season on the books of Elche, playing a starring role in the club’s eventual promotion back to the top-flight of Spanish football.

All told, from his berth at left-back, the 24-year-old racked up 39 league appearances, chipping in with two goals and three assists along the way.

Such exploits had long piqued the attentions of a number of clubs in La Liga, particularly with Sinas’ contract terms at Elche due to expire at the end of the month.

And as alluded to above, on Wednesday, one such suitor have closed a deal for his signature.

As per a statement across the website and social media platforms of the aforementioned Espanyol:

‘RCD Espanyol has completed the signing of left-back José Salinas, who joins the white-and-blue team on a free transfer after his contract with Elche CF ended. Salinas signs for three seasons, after being one of the most outstanding players for the Elche team, which has achieved promotion to the First Division.’

Salinas joins all of Marko Dmitrović, Hugo Pérez, Marcos Fernández, Miguel Rubio and Kike García in penning terms at the RCDE Stadium this summer.
