Bologna Reject Opening Napoli Offer for Top-Notch Duo
Napoli tried to accelerate to complete a double swoop from Bologna, nabbing Dan Ndoye and Sam Beukema, but the counterparty turned down their first bids. More meetings are necessary to concur on their valuations, Alfredo Pedullà informs.
The Rossoblù asked for about €70M for the pair. The winger is valued at €40M, the defender at about €10M less. They are open to some makeweights, either inserting them directly in the package or signing them later on. Alessandro Zanoli and Jesper Lindstrom are the top two options in that regard.
Napoli and Bologna will touch base soon to further haggle for Ndoye and Beukema. The gap between the offer and the request might not be insurmountable. The Azzurri are tending to numerous negotiations and will eventually decide which to seal and which to abandon.
Per La Gazzetta dello Sport, the two clubs are distant in particular concerning the Swiss talisman. The Partenopei lodged a €55M proposal for the couple. They are also working on Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah to bolster their rearguard, and instead PSV’s Noa Lang and Federico Chiesa to round out their frontline. Ademola Lookman is more expensive, while Jadon Sancho could be a bargain, provided he reduces his personal demands.
Our Take on Napoli Tracking Beukema and Ndoye
There’s a reason why Bologna mostly sell their stars to Premier League teams. The Scudetto holders aren’t short on cash, especially if the Victor Osimhen saga gets resolved soon, but they still have to decide how to best use it. Perhaps the Rossoblù would be more lenient if they picked one of the two. They need the latter more, but it is hard to find center-backs as solid as the Dutchman at reasonable prices.
