Arsenal to hand bumper contract to Rodrygo to seal summer move

Arsenal will reportedly look to sign 24-year-old Brazilian international Rodrygo from Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Rodrygo is the subject of interest from Arsenal. The Gunners are keen on bolstering their offensive unit in the summer transfer window by signing a versatile wide attacker. So, the 24-year-old Real Madrid forward has emerged as a target for the North London club.

Los Blancos will demand a starting price of £100 million to part ways with the South American attacker in the summer transfer window. However, a deal worth as low as £70 million may be on the cards. Meanwhile, Andrea Berta is ready to sanction a bumper contract to convince the player to move to the Emirates in the coming weeks.

Rodrygo has established himself as one of the best young prospects in La Liga since joining Real Madrid from Santos in July 2019. While the 24-year-old has not been as consistent as he would have liked, he has played his part in Los Blancos’ successful campaigns in several competitions in the last half a dozen years.

The Brazilian international has turned out over 250 times thus far for Real Madrid while chipping in with 68 goals and 51 assists. However, the player’s long-term future at the Santiago Bernabeu is uncertain after he was in and out of the starting lineup in the 2024/25 season. Meanwhile, the situation has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs, including Arsenal.

Arsenal’s interest in Rodrygo is understandable. The Gunners have been scouring the market for a versatile and productive wide attacker heading into the summer transfer window to reduce the growing over-dependence on Bukayo Saka. With Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard blowing hot and cold, Arsenal can do with a new wide attacker.

So, the Real Madrid winger has emerged as a viable target for Arsenal.
