Tottenham make approach for Antoine Semenyo
Tottenham Hotspur will reportedly look to sign 25-year-old Ghanaian international Antoine Semenyo from fellow Premier League club Bournemouth this summer.
According to a report by David Ornstein on The Athletic, Antoine Semenyo is the subject of interest from Tottenham Hotspur. The Lilywhites have been scouring the market for a wide attacker heading into the summer transfer window amid uncertainties surrounding Richarlison’s long-term future. So, the 25-year-old Bournemouth winger has emerged as a target for the North London club.
The 2024/25 UEFA Europa League winners have intensified their efforts to sign the London-born winger from Bournemouth in the summer transfer window, having submitted an enquiry for him. Meanwhile, the Premier League club will demand around £65 million to part ways with Semenyo in the summer transfer window.
Antoine Semenyo and his productive Bournemouth spell
Antoine Semenyo has seen his stock soar since joining Bournemouth from Bristol City in January 2023. The 25-year-old winger has been instrumental in helping the Cherries remain in the Premier League. In addition, he helped them breach the top half of the Premier League table in the 2024/25 season.
The Ghanaian international was excellent in the 2024/25 season, contributing to 20 goals in 42 appearances across all competitions by finding the back of the net 13 times and providing seven assists. Meanwhile, Semenyo’s exploits have not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile Premier League clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur.
London return on the horizon?
Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in Antoine Semenyo is understandable. The Lilywhites are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit in the summer transfer window by signing a versatile wide attacker. Timo Werner has returned to RB Leipzig after an unsuccessful loan spell at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
In addition, Richarlison faces an uncertain future at the North London club after struggling to stamp his authority since arriving from Everton. So, Tottenham must sign a new winger in the summer transfer window, with Semenyo emerging as a viable target. They have submitted an enquiry to land the Bournemouth attacker.
Meanwhile, the Cherries will demand around £65 million to part ways with the 25-year-old Ghanaian international in the summer transfer window. So, while Tottenham may have launched the move to secure Semenyo’s services, it is unclear if they will break the bank to land him.
