Juventus rival Napoli in Jadon Sancho chase

Juventus will compete with fellow Serie A club Napoli to sign 25-year-old English international Jadon Sancho from Manchester United in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth, Jadon Sancho is the subject of interest from Juventus. The Serie A giants are scouring the market for a versatile attacker heading into the summer transfer window and have set their sights on the Manchester United flop. Meanwhile, the 25-year-old playmaker is also a target for 2024/25 Italian champions Napoli.

Another report by reliable Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has revealed that Juventus and Napoli have held talks to sign the Englishman. While the Bianconeri recently approached Manchester United to discuss a possible move, the Partenopei spoke with Sancho’s entourage earlier this week.

The Jadon Sancho story

Jadon Sancho has been one of the worst signings in the past decade for Manchester United. While the Red Devils have become infamous for poorly-thought-out deals, the 25-year-old never made his mark for the struggling Premier League giants before having a bust-up with Erik ten Hag nearly two years ago. Since then, he has been on the periphery at Manchester United.

The English international spent the second half of the 2023/24 season on loan at Borussia Dortmund before joining Chelsea for the 2024/25 season. The 2000-born playmaker managed only five goals and ten assists in 42 appearances across all competitions. So, Sancho has returned to Manchester United, with Chelsea choosing not to complete a permanent deal. However, an adventure in Serie A may be on the cards for him.

What next?

Recent reports have linked Jadon Sancho with Napoli, with the Partenopei approaching his entourage to discuss a possible summer move. While the Serie A champions are discussing personal terms with the Manchester United flop, they will likely contact the Red Devils if the player is ready to take a pay cut. Considering they are yet to replace Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Sancho is a viable target.

However, Napoli will face Juventus for Sancho’s signature, with the Bianconeri “exploring the conditions” of a summer deal. Meanwhile, Gianluca Di Marzio has claimed that they have approached Manchester United to discuss a deal. Igor Tudor wants more firepower in the final third, making the 25-year-old Englishman an appealing target for Juventus.

Recent reports have also linked the 2000-born English playmaker with other clubs, including Al-Hilal. So, while Sancho has no shortage of suitors, it will be interesting to see where he lands amid his emerging links with Juventus.
