Brighton & Hove Albion line up summer move for Harvey Elliott

Brighton & Hove Albion are reportedly interested in signing 22-year-old English youth international Harvey Elliott from Liverpool in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by The Sun, Harvey Elliott is the subject of interest from Brighton & Hove Albion. The Seagulls are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing a versatile playmaker in the summer transfer window. So, the 22-year-old Liverpool prospect has emerged as a target for the Premier League club.

Brighton & Hove Albion are ready to launch the offensive to sign the Englishman in the summer transfer window. The Seagulls are willing to pay up to £40 million to secure his services, and James Milner’s presence at the Amex Stadium “could help persuade Elliott to make the switch to the south coast”.

Harvey Elliott and his Liverpool limbo

Harvey Elliott has had to bide his time since joining Liverpool from Fulham in July 2019. While the 22-year-old has been a highly-rated playmaker for half a dozen years, he has yet to establish a foothold in the first-team squad at Anfield. The youngster’s struggles continued in the 2024/25 season, as he raked in only 821 minutes of game time across 24 appearances in all competitions.

While recent reports have claimed that the English youth international wants to remain at Anfield, he is increasingly frustrated by the lack of game time. Meanwhile, Elliott has no shortage of suitors pursuing his signature, with Brighton & Hove Albion among the prospective suitors vying for his signature heading into the summer transfer window.

Move across the Premier League on the cards?

Brighton & Hove Albion hold a long-standing interest in Harvey Elliott, having mulled over signing him earlier this year. The Seagulls are scouring the market for a versatile playmaker heading into the summer transfer window amid uncertainties surrounding Joao Pedro’s long-term future.

With the Brazilian international a target for several Premier League bigwigs, Brighton must find a replacement this summer. So, Elliott has emerged as a viable target, with the Premier League club ready to launch the offensive to secure the 22-year-old Englishman’s services by offering up to £40 million to secure his services.

Other Premier League clubs, including Nottingham Forest, are also keen on signing Elliott. However, the English playmaker feels the Tricky Trees do not suit his playing style. Instead, James Milner’s presence at Brighton & Hove Albion “could help persuade Elliott to make the switch to the south coast”. So, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for the youngster.
