Arsenal lead race to sign Lucien Agoume

Arsenal, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Lucien Agoume from Sevilla in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by TEAMtalk, Arsenal are currently leading the race to sign highly-rated midfield prospect Lucien Agoume from La Liga club Sevilla, and it will be interesting to see if they can wrap up the move.

The Gunners have already reached an agreement to sign Martin Zubimendi, and they are now looking to add further depth in the middle of the park. The Sevilla midfielder has done quite well in La Liga, and he could cost around £20 million.

Sevilla are going through financial difficulties, and they could be under pressure to sell the player. The 23-year-old has the physicality and technical attributes to do well in the Premier League, and he could be an important signing for Arsenal.

Arsenal have a talented squad, but they are lacking in quality depth. They need more options if they want to do well across multiple competitions. Signing the midfielder could prove to be a wise decision.

Jorginho has already left the club, and Thomas Partey could move on as well. His contract negotiations have stalled, and Arsenal are now looking at alternatives. The Sevilla midfielder certainly fits the profile.

Manchester United and Tottenham are also keen

Meanwhile, Manchester United need quality central midfielders as well. The Red Devils struggled to dominate the midfield contests last season. They need more quality in that area of the pitch, and the 23-year-old will add some much-needed composure and quality. It will be interesting to see if the player is open to joining Manchester United. They will not be able to provide him with European football next season.

Finally, Tottenham are in the race as well. Spurs need a quality central midfielder who will help them stitch the play together in the middle of the park. The Sevilla star could prove to be the ideal acquisition for them. The 23-year-old is young enough to improve further, and he is available for a reasonable amount of money.

Tottenham have secured UEFA Champions League qualification for the next season, and they could be an attractive destination for the player. It remains to be seen where he ends up. Agoume will look to join a club where he will play regularly, and Arsenal, Tottenham or Manchester United will have to provide him with game time assurances. However, as things stand, the Emirates is his likely destination.
