Marcus Rashford pushing for Barcelona transfer

Marcus Rashford continues to push for a move to Barcelona, which, despite its difficulties, may end up working for the Catalans and not for Manchester United.

According to United Focus, Marcus Rashford still wants to keep pushing for a move to Barcelona despite the challenges in making the dream come true. The Catalans are keen on signing Nico Williams, although there might be a caveat that could see the English winger make the move, which may not benefit Manchester United.

Manchester United are keen to land their top targets, particularly for their attacking setup. Matheus Cunha is already through the door, while there are huge links to the likes of Bryan Mbeumo. That aside, they also want a new striker in place before the new season starts.

The other big task on the club officials is to offload some of their high earners such as Marcus Rashford, Antony and Jadon Sancho to make room for the new signings to arrive. Rashford’s case is rather peculiar, as his high wages are an obvious stumbling block, as well as Manchester United’s reported £40 million asking rate to sell him.

The other issue comes from Rashford, who seemingly wants to join Barcelona. Newcastle United had been plotting a loan move, but the forward’s dream destination remains Catalonia, which could pose a fresh problem for Manchester United, as the Catalans are unlikely to pay the asking price.

Manchester United were expected to face issues in offloading Rashford, and now, there are chances that Barcelona could push for a loan move over a permanent transfer. Rashford may not get his move to Barcelona owing to many factors, with Nico Williams being one of the major reasons.

Can Marcus Rashford join Barcelona?

Barcelona had been looking for a left-sided forward in this market and certainly held an interest in Rashford. They also saw an approach snubbed by Liverpool for Luis Diaz, although they have now come to prefer Williams over the Colombian, which could further jeopardise the idea of bringing Reashford.

With Rashford still pushing to join the Catalans, and despite the huge links to Williams, Barcelona could potentially see the Manchester United man as a striker. They do need another centre-forward, and if the Red Devils can be convinced over a loan move, a transfer to Barcelona could still be in the realm of possibility for the English winger.
