Everton in transfer tussle to sign Yuri Alberto

Everton will reportedly compete with AS Roma and Atletico Madrid to sign 24-year-old Brazilian striker Yuri Alberto from Corinthians in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Spanish outlet AS, Yuri Alberto is the subject of interest from Everton. The Toffees are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit in the summer transfer window by signing a striker amid uncertainties surrounding Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s long-term future. So, the 24-year-old Corinthians attacker has emerged as a target for the Merseyside outfit.

Everton will face stiff competition for Alberto’s signature, with AS Roma and Atletico Madrid also vying for his signature. Meanwhile, the Corinthians striker will not cost a bomb, with the South American outfit demanding around €20 million to part ways with him in the summer transfer window.

Yuri Alberto and a successful return to Brazil

Yuri Alberto has established himself as one of the best players in his homeland since joining Corinthians from Zenit St Petersburg. The South American outfit initially signed the 24-year-old striker on loan in July 2022 before completing a permanent move in the subsequent winter transfer window.

The Brazilian striker has been hot off the blocks in the 2025 season, contributing to 14 goals in 2,388 minutes of game time by finding the back of the net 13 times and providing one assist. Meanwhile, Alberto’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs, including Everton, heading into the summer transfer window.

Premier League move on the horizon?

Everton’s interest in Yuri Alberto is understandable. The Toffees are scouring the market for a striker heading into the summer transfer window amid uncertainties surrounding Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s long-term future. The English attacker has entered the final month of his contract with Everton, with the Merseyside club attempting to tie him to a new contract.

With time running out, Calvert-Lewin will likely leave Everton as a free agent. So, several candidates, including Nick Woltemade, have emerged on the Merseyside club’s radar, with Alberto also a viable target. However, the Toffees face stiff competition from AS Roma and Atletico Madrid for the Corinthians striker’s signature.

Meanwhile, the Brazilian outfit will demand around €20 million to part ways with the 24-year-old striker in the summer transfer window. Recent reports have also linked Alberto with West Ham United. So, the player will have considerable suitors vying for his signature this summer.
