Arsenal make approach for Warren Zaire-Emery
Arsenal made an enquiry about PSG’s 19-year-old midfielder Warren Zaire-Emery, with the Parisians uninterested in letting him leave.
According to TBR, Arsenal had reportedly enquired about the availability of Warren Zaire-Emery for this summer window. PSG are aware that there are more clubs like Chelsea, Barcelona and Liverpool interested in the young midfielder as the Parisians have no intention of letting him leave at this stage of their project.
Once described as having similar talents to Kylian Mbappe by Arsene Wenger, Warren Zaire-Emery remains one of the most talented players in France. The 19-year-old has been a key man for PSG since his breakthrough season a few years back, and while he has not been playing regularly for Luis Enrique’s side since the turn of the year, the French side continues to hold him in high regard.
He has barely started half the game since the turn of the year, and while he was a key squad member, Enrique chose others over him for their main run into the treble. The likes of Joao Neves and Vitinha are ahead of Zaire-Emery in the current pecking order, but that may not be a permanent setting.
There are many top clubs interested in the midfielder, who is reportedly valued at around £85 million by PSG. His talent remains undeniable, and hence the hefty price tag attached to him, which some of the top-level clubs would rather view as a big investment in a player who has all the attributes to become a top-rated star.
Liverpool were interested earlier in the year, as they have begun recruiting young and for the future. Chelsea have always admired the best young profiles from around, although they might not prefer to pay huge fees for the £85m-rated PSG prodigy at the time being. The price point might also be an issue for another suitor, Barcelona, who are well-sticked with young midfielders in their squad.
Arsenal made Warren Zaire-Emery enquiry
Arsenal are interested in Warren Zaire-Emery as Mikel Arteta wants the club to target the best profiles in every position available. While the price point may seem high for them, the Gunners have shown they can spend big when necessary. They have reportedly enquired about the £85m-rated PSG prodigy, although the Parisians are not keen on selling.
Arsenal could lose Thomas Partey when his contract expires while having already seen Jorginho depart for Flamengo. Zaire-Emery could be viewed as a replacement for the Ghanaian, while they have already agreed a move for Martin Zubimendi. For now, the French teenager may not be on the market as PSG considers him key to their budding project, although that does not rule out a move in the future to north London.
