Real Madrid set asking price for Rodrygo Goes, Arsenal optimistic of sealing deal

Arsenal are confident of securing the services of Rodrygo Goes, with Real Madrid valuing the Brazilian winger at €90 million.

Mikel Arteta is keen on adding more firepower to his ranks as he looks for the leap in quality that could help them end their wait for a major silverware. Arsenal have their eyes set on Real Madrid’s Rodrygo Goes, who could be on the move this summer for the right price.

According to a report from Fichajes, the Gunners are keen on signing the Brazilian international and have been closely monitoring his situation at the Spanish club ahead of a potential move. Los Blancos could consider parting ways with him as long as the interested club puts forward an offer worth €90 million.

Rodrygo arrived in the Spanish capital back in 2019. He slowly established himself as a key figure in the team, and of late, he has been one of their mainstays. While he was a regular feature under Carlo Ancelotti, the 24-year-old’s future has been up in the air in recent months.

With Brahim Diaz and Arda Guler also competing for the position on the right flank, Rodrygo’s game time could be significantly affected going forward. As a result, the 24-year-old could consider his future amidst interest from Arsenal.

Arsenal want Rodrygo this summer

The Gunners want to add more quality to their attack, and they consider Rodrygo an ideal signing to take them to the next level. He would be a significant upgrade on Gabriel Martinelli and could even feature as a nine or on the right flank when needed.

The North London club have been monitoring his situation at Madrid for months. They have already initiated contact with his camp to understand the feasibility of the deal.

According to Eduardo Burgos, Arteta’s team are optimistic about getting it over the line, and the initial talks between the player’s camp and Arsenal took place several weeks back.

While the player is currently focused on doing his best at the Club World Cup and cementing his spot in Alonso’s team, things could get complicated in the future depending on the offer on the table. Los Blancos are quite clear they won’t sit to negotiate his departure unless there is an offer close to their €90 million asking price.

Rodrygo’s priority is to continue in Madrid, but with Arsenal ready to make a strong splash for him and a lot of competition for a place in the XI under Alonso, the 24-year-old could consider moving to London.
