Atalanta Defy Milan and Inter for Torino and Parma Men
Atalanta are ready to challenge Milan and Inter in the race to sign Samuele Ricci from Torino and have taken an interest in Giovanni Leoni as well, who’s being tracked by several top Serie A sides.
According to Alfredo Pedullà, the Torino star would become a priority target if Ederson were sold. New coach Ivan Juric contributed to his growth while helming the Granata. Milan have been after him for a few years, but they are focusing on different targets at this stage. They seem keener on Bayer Leverkusen’s Granit Xhaka, Valencia’s Javi Guerra, and Club Brugge’s Ardon Jashari. He’s on the Nerazzurri’s shortlist too, but only if Hakan Calhanoglu departed.
Atalanta would quickly step up their effort for Ricci and Leoni if they got as much as they demand for Ederson and opted to add another defender. They have bought out Odilon Kossounou, but Sead Kolasinac will miss months due to an ACL tear.
As for the Brazilian star, he’s being eyed by Juventus, Inter, Napoli, and Al Hilal, but his price tag, €60M, has scared off the suitors so far, Mediaset informs. The fray to acquire him will heat up only after the FIFA Club World Cup. His stance on moving to Saudi Arabia is unclear at this stage.
Per La Repubblica (via SOSFanta), Parma want €25/30M for their talent, considering that many outfits are after him.
Our Take on Atalanta Pursuing Ricci and Leoni
The former wouldn’t be cheap, but it’s likely a first-come, first-served situation. It’d be remarkable if La Dea beat two powerhouses to the punch. Perhaps the new Milan brass have deemed him too expensive, but he’d be tailor-made to retool their midfield.
