Juventus Haven’t Abandoned Their Pursuit of Osimhen
Even though Cristiano Giuntoli, who brought Victor Osimhen to Italy, has been dismissed by Juventus, the Bianconeri haven’t lost interest in the Nigerian marksman, who’s in limbo following his loan spell at Galatasaray.
According to Sky, Napoli ask for more than his release clause, €75M, to sell him in Italy. Alternatively, the Old Lady is monitoring Emanuel Emegha, who has scored 14 goals and dished out 3 assists in 27 appearances with Strasbourg last season.
Unlike foreign teams, Juventus need to negotiate with the Azzurri to acquire Osimhen. At this stage, only Al-Hilal met the asking price, but the star refused the move there during the early June window. The Saudi franchise will try again after the FIFA Club World Cup, Fabrizio Romano informs (via SOSFanta). Instead, his salary might be too rich even for Premier League sides.
At the same time, Galatasaray want to keep him after a stellar loan spell. The Turkish side can match his personal requests, about €11/12M annually, but can’t offer as much as Napoli demand, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs. The Partenopei can take their time since they can prolong his contract again, pushing the expiration date to 2027. The peril of a Bosman departure is very far.
Our Take on Juventus and Osimhen
It’d be surprising if he ended up in Turin, both because of the dimension of the deal, which might not align with the mandate from the ownership, even though the Old Lady can potentially rack up a lot of money through sales, and because the Azzurri just might not want to fortify a rival. It would have to be the only viable landing spot to have a shot to happen, but it’d be a war of attrition anyway.
