Leeds United line up Facundo Buonanotte move

Leeds United are eager to explore a move for the highly-rated Facundo Buonanotte, who has a €25 million price tag hanging over his head.

According to Fichajes, Leeds United continue to explore the market for a new attacking midfielder, having added the name of Facundo Buonanotte to their shortlist. The Argentine playmaker is seemingly available for a transfer, and Brighton & Hove Albion want at least €25 million before add-ons.

Leeds United are working hard to secure targets that carry the experience of the Premier League and help them immediately over prospects who can have a greater impact in the future. The West Yorkshire side are aware of the challenges ahead of their return to the top flight, as they do not want to be part of the pack to go down to the Championship immediately.

For instance, in each of the last two seasons, the three promoted sides have returned to the Championship. Leeds United have managed to stay afloat in the top flight before and will use their experience as well as the possible new additions to boost their chances.

Daniel Farke wants a new attacking midfielder in his ranks, with a few targets being mentioned. Mateus Fernandes from a relegated Southampton side is an option, and now they are targetting another player from a relegated side in Facundo Buonanotte, who played for Leicester City, albeit on loan, last season.

Aston Villa’s Emiliano Buendia is also a target, as the Argentine whizkid returns from his modest loan spell at Bayer Leverkusen. However, his compatriot, Buonanotte is the latest on their list, and they could open talks with Brighton over a move.

Brighton name Facundo Buonanotte price

Brighton & Hove Albion are known to sell their talented stars for a healthy price as Buonanotte might fall into that category. The Seagulls are open to selling the Argentine playmaker, having reportedly named a €25 million asking price before add-ons. They seemingly want another €10 million in those variables, which will depend on performances and achievements.

Leeds United might view the €25 million-rated highly-rated playmaker as a big investment for the present and future. They also have good relations with Brighton following a deal to sign Georginio Rutter last summer, which could help establish contact between the clubs. Buonanotte might view this move as another big challenge in his career, and possibly even accept the idea should Farke convince him of an important place in the team.
