Manchester United, Newcastle United, Tottenham eyeing Antoine Semenyo as Bryan Mbeumo alternative
Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, and Newcastle United are interested in signing Bournemouth attacker Antoine Semenyo.
Antoine Semenyo has done well for the Cherries, and his performances have attracted the attention of the other Premier League clubs. According to GMS, the player is valued at £65 million.
Manchester United have been trying to sign Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford, but they have not been able to get the deal across the line. Therefore, they are looking at alternatives, and they have identified the Ghanaian international as a target.
Semenyo has established himself as an efficient Premier League attacker, and there is no doubt that he would be a quality addition for Manchester United.
It will be interesting to see whether Manchester United can win the race for his signature.
Tottenham and Newcastle keen on the player
Similarly, Tottenham have been linked with the player as well. They need more quality and depth on the flanks. Semenyo is capable of operating anywhere across the front three, and he will add goals and creativity to the side.
The opportunity to join clubs like Manchester United or Tottenham will be quite exciting for him. Tottenham, in particular, will be able to offer him UEFA Champions League football next season.
It remains to be seen whether the Cherries are willing to sanction his departure. They have lost Dean Huijsen earlier this summer, and they are expected to part ways with Milos Kerkez as well. They will not want to sell multiple key players in one window, and therefore, it will be difficult to convince them to sell Semenyo.
Meanwhile, Newcastle are keeping tabs on his situation as well. They are set to compete in the Champions League next year, and they will look to fight for trophies as well. They need to improve their squad adequately, and signing a quality attacker should be a priority for them. They have been overly dependent on Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon. They need more support in the attack, and the Bournemouth attacker seems like the ideal fit.
Newcastle are one of the wealthiest clubs in the world and they have the finances to get the deal done as well. It will be interesting to see which of the three clubs manages to get the deal done. The 25-year-old is well settled in the Premier League, and he is performing at a high level. He has the qualities to improve all three clubs.
