Alex Moreno open to Leeds United transfer

Alex Moreno might be open to the idea of joining Leeds United in the summer as a departure from Aston Villa looks likely.

According to Football Insider, Leeds United could have an advantage in the race for Alex Moreno, with the Spaniard open to joining the newly promoted side. The 32-year-old Aston Villa wide man is surplus to requirements under Unai Emery with a cut-price sale likely on the cards.

Leeds United are making some important plans to strengthen the squad ahead of their return to the Premier League. The Yorkshire side are keen to prevent mistakes from the last time they were in the top flight, as manager Daniel Farke would want sufficient additions that help them bridge the quality gap between them and other established top flight sides.

Hence, there are some important names on their list of transfer targets, with some of them experienced while others are rather talented in their style. Leeds have begun negotiations for Udinese midfielder Jaka Bijol, while they could also look for players in different positions.

A new left-back is firmly on their agenda, as Liverpool’s Kostas Tsimikas is one of the options on their list. As per Fabrizio Romano, Junior Firpo is set for a departure from Leeds as he’s moving to Real Betis. The Spanish side were also one of the admirers of 32-year-old Aston Villa left0-back Alex Moreno, which may pave the way for Leeds United to make a move for the wide man.

Leeds United are indeed interested in the idea of signing Aston Villa wide man Moreno on a cut-price deal. He does not have a future under Unai Emery, as the club already have the likes of Lucas Digne and Iam Maatsen as the first-choice left-backs, which leaves little room for Moreno in the squad.

Alex Moreno open to Leeds United transfer

Moreno might be opposed to the idea of joining Leeds United, where he could potentially get to play regularly compared to Aston Villa. He might have other interested parties in the market, although the prospect of staying in the Premier League would feel enticing.

The Aston Villa wide man is already into the final year of his deal, which does leave the door open to make a cut-price move for the Spaniard. He also has decent experience in the Premier League, which would help Leeds United in their quest to stay afloat in what might be a pressure season ahead.
