Luis Diaz does not feel valued at Liverpool, wants Barcelona move

Luis Diaz reportedly does not “feel valued” at Anfield, and the 28-year-old Colombian international wants to leave Liverpool to join Barcelona in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Mundo Deportivo, as relayed by Sport Witness, Luis Diaz is the subject of interest from Barcelona. The Catalan giants are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit in the summer transfer window by signing a productive wide attacker. So, the Liverpool winger has emerged as a target for the Blaugrana.

The South American attacker has now boosted Barcelona’s prospects, as he “will do his best” to leave Liverpool and join Barcelona in the summer transfer window. Diaz feels this summer is his final chance to move to the Catalan outfit. In addition, he is determined to move to Barcelona, as he “does not feel valued” at the Merseyside club.

Luis Diaz and his fruitful Liverpool spell

Luis Diaz has been among the most exciting attackers in the Premier League since joining Liverpool from FC Porto in January 2022. The 28-year-old has come leaps and bounds in the last three and a half years, establishing himself as a pivotal figure for the Merseyside outfit and playing his part in the club’s Premier League triumph in the 2024/25 season.

The Colombian international amassed 17 goals and eight assists in 50 appearances across all competitions. However, Diaz faces an uncertain future at the Premier League club, with widespread reports linking him with Barcelona. Mundo Deportivo has suggested that he is determined to leave Liverpool to join the Blaugrana in the summer transfer window.

La Liga adventure beckons?

Barcelona’s interest in Luis Diaz is understandable. The newly crowned La Liga champions are scouring the market for a wide attacker heading into the summer transfer window amid uncertainties surrounding Ansu Fati’s long-term future. So, the Liverpool winger has emerged as a viable target for Barcelona.

Liverpool recently rebuffed Barcelona’s approach over a possible move for Diaz. However, the Catalan giants have not given up, and the player’s eagerness to move to Catalonia has boosted their prospects. The report has suggested that the former FC Porto winger “does not feel valued” at the Merseyside club.

So, Diaz “will do his best” to leave Liverpool and join Barcelona in the summer transfer window. Recent reports have claimed that the Reds will only sell the 28-year-old Colombian international if he forces his exit. So, it will be interesting to see what the future has in store for him.
