AC Milan hold talks with Arsenal to sign Oleksandr Zinchenko, Jakub Kiwior
AC Milan will reportedly look to sign the versatile defensive duo of Oleksandr Zinchenko and Jakub Kiwior from Arsenal in the summer transfer window.
According to a report by Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Jakub Kiwior are subjects of interest from AC Milan. The Serie A giants are keen on reinforcing their defensive unit by signing a left-back and a centre-back in the summer transfer window. So, the versatile Arsenal defenders have emerged as targets for the Rossoneri.
AC Milan recently sent officials to London to hold talks with Arsenal over a possible move for the defensive duo. While Zinchenko will replace Theo Hernandez amid the French international defender’s links with Atletico Madrid, Kiwior will fill the void Malick Thiaw will likely leave at San Siro in the summer transfer window.
Oleksandr Zinchenko and Jakub Kiwior: Biding time at Arsenal
Oleksandr Zinchenko has endured a topsy-turvy ride since joining Arsenal from Manchester City in July 2022. The 28-year-old utility man fell in stature in the 2024/25 season, managing only 789 minutes of game time across 23 appearances in all competitions. So, it is hardly surprising the Ukrainian international faces an uncertain future at the North London club.
As for Jakub Kiwior, the Pole has been with Arsenal since arriving from Spezia in January 2023. However, the 25-year-old has struggled for game time throughout his spell with the Gunners, although he amassed over 2,000 minutes of action across 30 appearances in all competitions. However, he will unlikely start regularly unless Gabriel Magalhaes is on the sidelines.
Will the Arsenal duo reunite in Milan?
Oleksandr Zinchenko and Jakub Kiwior have legitimate reasons to consider leaving Arsenal in the summer transfer window. However, the versatile defensive duo may reunite at AC Milan, with the Rossoneri keen on signing them in the coming weeks. They have also held talks with Arsenal over possible summer deals.
Recent reports suggested that intermediaries offered Zinchenko to AC Milan and other Serie A clubs. So, amid uncertainties surrounding Theo Hernandez’s long-term future, the 28-year-old Ukrainian international is a viable target for the Rossoneri. Meanwhile, Kiwior will likely replace Malick Thiaw, although he can also play as a left-back.
While Arsenal mulled over tying Kiwior to a new contract, the 25-year-old Polish defender is keen on embarking on a new adventure by returning to Serie A. So, it will be interesting to see if he reunites with Zinchenko at AC Milan in the summer transfer window.
