Marseille’s Adrien Rabiot opts against Italy return
Adrien Rabiot (30) will not leave Olympique de Marseille this summer, despite interest from Italy, Foot Mercato understands.
Rabiot joined Marseille on a free transfer last summer, following the expiry of his contract at Juventus. He has enjoyed a successful first season with OM, being elected the fans’ player of the season and leading the club back into the UEFA Champions League thanks to a second-place finish in Ligue 1.
However, there were rumours that this would be his one and only season at the Vélodrome. There has been interest from Italy, notably from AC Milan, who recently hired Max Allegri as manager. Rabiot has publicly stated that he is close with the Italian.
However, according to a report from Foot Mercato, who understand that AC Milan were plotting a move for the France international, he will stay will Marseille for the coming season and compete in the upcoming Champions League campaign.
