Jack Grealish prefers Everton move over Newcastle United
Jack Grealish has reportedly told his friends that he prefers a move to Everton over Newcastle United when he leaves Manchester City in the summer transfer window.
According to a report by Football Insider, Everton and Newcastle United are keen on signing Jack Grealish from Manchester City in the summer transfer window. The struggling English attacker will likely depart from the Etihad in the coming weeks after his latest setback at the Premier League club saw him get omitted from the FIFA Club World Cup squad.
Apart from Everton and Newcastle United, Napoli and Saudi Pro League outfits are also keen on signing the Englishman in the summer transfer window. However, Grealish wants to remain in the Premier League after leaving Manchester City, and he is “excited by” joining Everton over Newcastle United in the coming weeks.
Jack Grealish and his Manchester City misery
Jack Grealish was among the best players in the Premier League when he joined Manchester City from Aston Villa in a record deal in August 2021. However, the 29-year-old has seen his stock plummet in the last four years, and he barely featured for Manchester City in the 2024/25 season.
Grealish managed only 1,521 minutes of game time across 32 appearances in all competitions while chipping in with three goals and five assists. With Pep Guardiola omitting the English international from the FIFA Club World Cup squad, a summer departure from the Etihad is beyond doubt. Meanwhile, he has no shortage of suitors pursuing his signature, with Everton and Newcastle United vying for his signature this summer.
What next?
Everton’s interest in Jack Grealish is understandable. The Toffees are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit in the summer transfer window after parting ways with Jack Harrison and Jesper Lindstrom. So, a versatile attacker like Grealish is a viable target for Everton this summer.
As for Newcastle United, Miguel Almiron departed from St. James’ Park earlier this year, and the Tyneside outfit did not replace him in January. So, Grealish is an option worth considering, with Newcastle United ready to launch the offensive to sign the 29-year-old Englishman in the summer transfer window.
Apart from Everton and Newcastle United, Napoli and Saudi Pro League clubs are also keen on signing Grealish from Manchester City. However, the struggling English attacker wants to join Everton instead of Newcastle United and other suitors, and he has also told his friends his preference.
