Real Betis travel to hold Antony talks with Manchester United

Officials from La Liga club Real Betis have reportedly travelled to England to hold talks with Manchester United over a loan move for resurgent Brazilian winger Antony.

According to a report by Spanish outlet ABC, Antony remains the subject of interest from Real Betis. The Andalusian giants are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit in the summer transfer window by taking the Manchester United outcast back to the Benito Villamarin Stadium. So, they are seeking another loan deal for the resurgent Brazilian international.

Officials from the Andalusian outfit have travelled to England to hold talks with Manchester United regarding a loan move for the former Ajax winger. Meanwhile, the player is keen on returning to Real Betis in the summer transfer window, with Los Verdiblancos working out the numbers to seal a summer deal.

Antony has resurrected his stuttering career since joining Real Betis on loan from Manchester United in the winter transfer window this year. The 25-year-old was on the periphery at Old Trafford under Ruben Amorim, and he needed to leave the Premier League club to land on his feet again.

The Brazilian international ended the 2024/25 season with a respectable tally of ten goals and five assists, with most of that coming during his loan spell with Real Betis. The player’s exploits also helped him earn a recall to his national side. So, it is hardly surprising that he wants to return to Real Betis instead of turning out for Manchester United in the 2025/26 campaign.

Recent reports have claimed that Real Betis will seek another loan deal for Antony, and they have been working on the numbers to seal a move in the summer transfer window. The Andalusian outfit’s eagerness to execute another temporary switch is understandable, considering the financial issues at the club.

So, widespread reports have suggested that Real Betis wanted to initiate discussions with Manchester United over a loan move for the South American attacker. With the former Ajax winger keen on returning to the Benito Villamarin Stadium, an agreement may be on the cards.
