Leroy Sane keen on Arsenal move
Bayern Munich star Leroy Sane wants to join Arsenal despite interest from Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United.
Arsenal, Tottenham and Newcastle United are all keen on signing Leroy Sane this summer. The Bayern Munich forward could be a free agent in a few weeks and all three clubs see this as a great opportunity.
However, according to BILD via SportWitness, Sane prefers joining Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal. While a move to London appeals to him, he still doesn’t favour a move to Spurs and the same goes for Newcastle.
Sane made a name for himself at Manchester City before joining Bayern Munich in the summer of 2020. He has done wonders at the German club and has been a key part of their first team since the start.
The 29-year-old was involved in a total of 45 matches last season and he ended up contributing towards 19 goals. While his game time has certainly gone down, he still had the same impact on the pitch.
Bayern remain keen on having him around for a few more years but his future is a big talking point as he is set to be a free agent after 30th June. Sane is a part of their Club World Cup squad and they could hand him a short-term deal if they make it out of the group.
While the German club would love to extend his stay at the club for a few more seasons and even he is open to that idea, Sane is looking to explore all the possible options before making a decision. He has interest from three Premier League clubs.
Sane is open to joining Arsenal
Arsenal are looking for more quality on the flanks and Mikel Arteta is a huge admirer of Sane having worked with him at City. His experience could come in handy and he could provide competition to Gabriel Martinelli on the left and cover for Bukayo Saka when needed.
Newcastle are also looking to bolster the right flank and they consider Sane a great option for their project. Meanwhile, Tottenham seek more firepower and the Bayern Munich forward could prove to be a marquee signing for them after a season full of struggles.
Having secured Champions League football, Spurs are hoping they can lure him to the club. While Sane would like to continue at Bayern, he is also very interested in joining Arsenal.
A move to London is appealing to him and his wife, Candice Brook. While Spurs could also offer him the opportunity to stay in London, they are not a favoured option for him. Even Newcastle is not up there on his wishlist alongside a few other clubs from the Middle East.
