Crystal Palace rival Aston Villa in Enzo Boyomo chase
Crystal Palace and Aston Villa will reportedly look to sign 23-year-old Cameroonian international Enzo Boyomo from La Liga club CA Osasuna in the summer transfer window.
According to a report by Africa Foot, Enzo Boyomo is the subject of interest from Crystal Palace. The Eagles are keen on reinforcing their defensive unit in the summer transfer window by signing a centre-back amid uncertainties surrounding Marc Guehi’s long-term future. So, the CA Osasuna defender has emerged as a target for the South London club.
Meanwhile, the Toulouse native is also a target for Aston Villa, and the two Premier League clubs may present their offers to secure his services soon. CA Osasuna will demand around €25 million to part ways with Boyomo in the summer transfer window.
Enzo Boyomo and his La Liga adventure
Enzo Boyomo has established himself as one of the most underrated defenders in La Liga since joining CA Osasuna from Real Valladolid last summer. A native of Toulouse, the 23-year-old spent most of his formative years in France but graduated from the youth division at Blackburn Rovers.
However, the player has chosen Cameroon as his national side, and he has turned out twice thus far for the Indomitable Lions. As for Boyomo’s stint with CA Osasuna, he has made nearly 50 appearances for the Spanish club while chipping in with two goals. Meanwhile, the young centre-back’s progress has not gone unnoticed, alerting several well-known clubs, including Aston Villa and Crystal Palace.
Premier League move on the horizon?
Enzo Boyomo has been on Aston Villa’s radar for a long time. The continued interest makes sense, considering Axel Disasi has returned to Chelsea after his loan spell in the second half of the 2024/25 season. In addition, Tyrone Mings is approaching the twilight of his career. So, the CA Osasuna defender is a viable target for Aston Villa.
As for Crystal Palace, the Eagles are in a spot of bother over Marc Guehi’s long-term future amid his links with several high-profile clubs. So, the South London club must sign a young centre-back to take over from Guehi. Boyomo has thus emerged as a viable target for Crystal Palace.
Meanwhile, the Cameroonian international will not cost a bomb, as his contract with the Spanish club has a release clause worth €25 million. So, it will be interesting to see if Aston Villa and Crystal Palace are ready to fork out €25 million to sign the 23-year-old defender in the summer transfer window.
