Tottenham in transfer tussle to sign Dorgeles Nene

Tottenham are reportedly interested in signing Red Bull Salzburg winger Dorgeles Nene during the summer transfer window.

According to a report by TEAMtalk, Tottenham Hotspur have been following Dorgeles Nene closely, and they could look to make their move. The player will cost around €20-25 million, and he has 15 goals to his name this past season. Nene picked up nine assists as well. Lazio, Fiorentina, Freiburg and Bayer Leverkusen are keen on the player as well.

He is capable of operating on the flanks, as well as centrally. His versatility will be a huge bonus for Spurs if they manage to sign him. He will add goals, flair and unpredictability to the Spurs attack.

A move to the Premier League could be ideal for the player’s development. It would be a step up in his career, and he is likely to be tempted if the London club come forward with an offer to sign him. Regular football in England could help him improve further as a player.

Nene would be a superb addition

Tottenham certainly have the financial resources to pay the asking price for him, and it will be interesting to see if they decide to get the deal done. They need more depth in the final third, and the 22-year-old would be a long-term investment. The reported price is quite reasonable, and the transfer could look like a masterstroke if the player manages to fulfil his potential.

Tottenham have an attractive project, especially after securing Champions League qualification for the next season. Convincing the player to join them will not be difficult for them. They have looked mediocre in the attack at times last season, and they need to improve in that area of the pitch. They should look to invest in a reliable striker as well.

Nene has the technical attributes to adapt to English football, and he will look to establish himself as a key player for Tottenham if the transfer goes through. It will be interesting to see if Tottenham follow up on their interest with an official offer to sign the player.

Spurs finished 17th in the league table last year, and they need quality signings to bounce back.
