Liverpool set to make final bid to sign Florian Wirtz

Liverpool are reportedly all set to table their final offer as they look to sign Bayer Leverkusen attacking sensation Florian Wirtz.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, Liverpool are all set to make a final offer for Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz. The Reds are prepared to put forward an improved bid after their £113 million offer was turned down by the German club.

Wirtz broke into Leverkusen’s first team in the summer of 2020 and he has only gone from strength to strength since. Not only did he establish himself as one of their mainstays, but the German international is also widely regarded as one of the best-attacking midfielders in the world.

While the 22-year-old still has two years left on his deal at Leverkusen, he is ready to take the next step in his career. The German club are willing to sanction his departure as long as they get the right price.

There has been no shortage of interest in Wirtz but he seems to have his heart set on a move to Liverpool. He has already turned down the opportunity to join Manchester City and Bayer Munich, who have both been forced to look at alternative options.

Leverkusen could accept Liverpool’s next offer

With him keen on joining the Reds, agreeing personal terms was never really a problem. But with Bayer Leverkusen looking for £126 million, the Merseyside certainly had a lot of negotiations to do.

Liverpool submitted an offer worth £113 million last Friday, with £100 million as a fixed fee and the remaining as add-ons. Unfortunately, the offer was rejected as Leverkusen once again pointed towards their asking price.

However, Arne Slot’s team are not willing to meet their demand even though Wirtz is their priority target for this summer. They are preparing their final offer for the 22-year-old which is set to be worth around £118 million (including add-ons).

Leverkusen are aware that the Reds could make one final attempt to sign him within the next 24 hours and they might be willing to give the green light to the move. The German club could make a compromise to ensure Wirtz gets the move that he so desperately wants.
