Excelsior return to Eredivisie and sit in ‘pole position’ for second-tier star
1
Excelsior want to sign Gyan de Regt, according to Voetbal International. The 21-year-old winger, who impressed at Vitesse last season, can be picked up on a free transfer, although the promoted Excelsior have competition from other clubs.
While Vitesse experienced a bleak season due to the huge amount of points deducted, De Regt’s form came as a rare bright spot in Arnhem. The fast attacker played 35 matches in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie and scored four goals and registered seven assists.
Those solid numbers have earned him the interest of Excelsior as well as ‘many clubs’. However, the Rotterdammers are in ‘pole position’. It is not known which other clubs are in the race for De Regt’s signature.
