Agreement reached between Manchester City and Lyon for Rayan Cherki
According to a report from L’Équipe, Manchester City have reached an agreement with Olympique Lyonnais for the transfer of Rayan Cherki (21).
The Premier League side are reported to have increased their bid from their opening offer of €23.5 million, although the exact amount has not filtered out. Previous reports suggested that Lyon were looking for between €35 million and €40 million for the maverick playmaker.
The France international had reportedly been very keen to join up with Manchester City and, after finalising a few more details, is expected to sign a contract that will keep him in England until 2030. The midfielder who can also play as a winger has been a priority target for City who are looking to return to the top of the Premier League after a disappointing season.
Cherki will be available for Manchester City when they take part in the newly revamped FIFA Club World Cup later this month.
