Rodrygo Goes wants £250,000-a-week contract to sign Arsenal
Rodrygo Goes would demand a £250,000-a-week contract to join Arsenal as the Brazilian is viewed as Mikel Arteta’s top target.
According to Give Me Sport, Arsenal must offer a contract worth £250,000-a week to tempt Rodrygo Goes into signing for the club. The Brazilian has merged as Mikel Arteta’s top attacking target in the summer, as the Gunners are keen to strengthen their left-wing position.
Arsenal are working hard to secure their top targets for the summer, as Mikel Arteta intends to start the new season with new players. There are obvious attacking needs for the Gunners, as the arrival of a striker seems necessary, while a new left-winger is very much on their agenda.
Mikel Arteta views the position as a key need for his squad’s progression, as Rodrygo Goes is the top target. There are rumblings around the Brazilian winger’s future at Real Madrid, as he could hold talks with new manager Xabi Alonso to determine his next steps.
Many reports have stated the 24-year-old Real Madrid star wants to play on the left wing, which is a position heavily stacked with the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior. Hence, the likelihood of Rodrygo playing on that side of the pitch may not materialise, which could seemingly decide his fate at the club, as well as build speculation towards an exit.
There are a lot of interested clubs including Chelsea, who are also in the hunt for a left-winger. Whether he is a definitive option for the Blues remains unclear, as Arsenal have also made contact with Rodrygo’s camp, as conversations have continued.
Rodrygo demands a £250,000-a-week contract
Arsenal are willing to pay the right price to secure Rodrygo, who would demand a £250,000-a-week contract if he was to join the Gunners. That should not be a problem for Arteta’s side, as such a salary range would place him in the bracket of their top earners, as a marquee signing of his quality would certainly feel that those demands are reasonable.
With that in mind, all eyes will be on Rodrygo’s final decision on his future, as he could choose to seek a different challenge and become a main man elsewhere. Arsenal are considered to be in a strong position if the 24-year-old Real Madrid star chooses to leave Spain, as Arteta would love to have the Brazilian in his ranks.
