Marseille see two bids rejected for Nantes striker Matthis Abline

Olympique de Marseille have submitted two offers for Matthis Abline (22), but both have been turned down by FC Nantes, according to L’Équipe.

The Breton-born striker, who scored nine goals in Ligue 1 this past season, is a profile that the OM hierarchy currently “adore” for his mobility and potential to rotate with Amine Gouiri, who is expected to lead the line under Roberto De Zerbi next season.

Marseille’s opening bid was worth €12m plus €3m in bonuses, followed by a second offer worth €15m paid in four instalments. However, Nantes, under the direction of the Kita family, deemed both offers insufficient. The club is aiming to complete a major transfer should Abline leave this summer and consider the proposed figures far off their internal valuation.

Abline was signed by Nantes from Rennes in the summer of 2024 for a fee close to €10m plus €2m in bonuses, and has since established himself as one of the more promising attacking talents in Ligue 1, also becoming a regular in Thierry Henry’s France U21 side.

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace ace Jean-Philippe Mateta has been offered to OM, but his wages and valuation are considered out of reach for now.
